which new cingular (at&t) phones don’t use a gps navigator to track down where you are at from online?

I am getting a new phone, but under my parents plan. I overheard my dad talking and he wants me to pick a certain one because he wants to see where I am at with a GPS device that can track me down. I am buying my own phone, so i won’t know which is which. Well, I am a good girl, I always am at where I say I am at, but its just kind of creepy that he can do that and I hate how he doesn’t trust me that I am where I say I am. Anyways, how would I find that information out? I couldn’t find it on the website. Any help would be great, thanks!

P.S. Don’t say to just go with, because “I have nothing to hide.” Its just the principal of the thing. I mean honestly, that’s just weird. Especially when I go off to college next fall!

    All new phones have GPS, you can’t avoid it. However, most phones default to emergency/911 GPS only. You have to turn on the option for a family member to track you. The upside is that you can track down your phone if you lose it.
